6 - 10 September 2017 From classical crossover and minimal soundscapes to modern composition with (live) electronics. Gaudeamus Muziekweek presents the newest music by young music pioneers during the eponymous and highly renowned music festival in Utrecht, the Netherlands.
Gaudeamus Muziekweek Academy
From 1 till 7 September 2016 (preceding the Muziekweek) the 3rd Gaudeamus Muziekweek Academy will take place. During the academy the five composers nominated for the Gaudeamus Award 2016 will work intensively with Ensemble Modelo62 and Silbersee. In addition to that, they will work on a new piece for Quatuor Bozzini and Oerknal!, both ensemble-in-residence. An intense working week with plenty of room for discussion, en groupe or face to face with the jury members Seung-Won Oh, Pierre Jodlowski and Willem Jeths.
We are organising a Workshop Weekend for young composers and composition students. This will take place in Utrecht, on 3 & 4 September, as a part of the Gaudeamus Muziekweek Academy. Everyone with a special interest in (contemporary) music is welcome to come and listen: music enthusiasts, musicologists and music professionals. A richly diverse programme of workshops, lectures and reading sessions will be offered. The Academy programme is mostly free of charge, though for some workshops there will be a fee for participants.
Follow our Facebook Event and stay updated about the GMW Academy Workshop Weekend.
