Videos, photos, recordings and reviews

Sunday September 11th Gaudeamus Muziekweek 2016 closed the festival with a thrilling and exciting premier of THIEVES by Thanasis Deligiannis. We look back on a very succesful 70th edition.

(Re)live the festival with our festival videos and photos.

Concert recordings and interviews with nominees and other involved musicians and composers can be heard on VPRO Vrije Geluiden and Radio 4 Muziekwijzer (broadcasts of Sept 5 till Sept 10). The whole Up-Close openingconcert of Wednesday September 7th was broadcast on MAX radio 4 avondconcerten.

Reviews are available on Cultureel persbureau and the blog Nieuwe Noten (both only in Dutch).

Press quotes:
““Cellist Kaori Yamagami and Amsterdam Sinfonietta gave a fascinating rendition of Michel van der Aa’s concert Up Close.”
Volkskrant (Frits van der Waa)

Whoever thinks about baroque when a harpsichord is involved was in for a small shock at Theater Kikker – a ‘Lilleke Spiekerbak’ sounded as pure science fiction. […] Harpsichordist Goska Isphording was great.

In the Pieterskerk Silbersee sang new work by Anna Korsun (winner Gaudeamus Award 2014). The groans, grunts, squeaks, growls and screams swelled and diminished as the tides, but grabbed the attention with brilliant details.”
