6 - 10 September 2017 From classical crossover and minimal soundscapes to modern composition with (live) electronics. Gaudeamus Muziekweek presents the newest music by young music pioneers during the eponymous and highly renowned music festival in Utrecht, the Netherlands.
After thirty years, the International Computer Music Conference is returning to the Netherlands. The internationally renowned conference on computer music is hosted by Gaudeamus Muziekweek and HKU Music and Technology, and will be held in Utrecht from 12 through 16 September. The theme is ‘Is the Sky the Limit?’ and the German mastermind of electronic music Robert Henke (Monolake) will uniquely approach this question onstage with his visionary audiovisual piece Lumière II.2 on 15 September in TivoliVredenburg.
With his self-built instruments, his compositions based on mathematical algorithms and the way he blends music with visual art, Henke is the ultimate embodiment of what the ICMC conference stands for: innovation, the urge to experiment and cross-discipline musical art.
Robert Henke’s performance is part of the ICMC 2016. Full programme of the conference will be announced in June. Tickets for the conference are available through icmc2016.com. Concert tickets for Lumière II.2 will become available soon.
